Switches and actuation
The Apex Pro Mini is sold with one switch option, OmniPoint 2.0, so there is no switch menu to pick from when you buy it. The PCB is non-hotswappable, which means the switches are fixed to the board. Whatever you get at purchase is what you keep, and swapping switches later isn't an option.
That is the main practical difference from the alternatives. The Wooting boards below are hotswappable and come with a long list of switch choices: Lekker Linear 45 v2, Lekker Linear 60 v2, Lekker Tikken Light, Lekker Tikken Medium, Wooting x TTC KOM and Geon Raw HE. The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini is also non-hotswappable and uses Razer Analog Optical switches. If you like to experiment with switches, the Wooting route gives you room to do that. The Apex Pro Mini is the simpler, set-and-forget option.
Key binds
Everything on the bind table fits inside a 60% layout. The number row handles weapon slots 1, 2 and 3 plus the trap on 4, while C and X cover the other two weapon slots. Q is the harvesting tool and E is use.
The bottom-left modifier keys do a lot of work. L-Ctrl is crouch, L-Alt is sprint and L-Shift places floors. V is roof, R rotates the building piece, and F is building edit. Space Bar is jump. Turbo Building and Confirm Edit on Release are both switched on. None of these binds need a function row, arrow keys or a numpad, which is why a compact board works for this layout.

Should you buy Pxlarized's keyboard?
The Apex Pro Mini suits players who want a compact 60% board and don't need a numpad, arrow cluster or function row. It is also a fit if you are happy with one switch type from the start. Its non-hotswappable PCB means there is no later tinkering with switches, and it has RGB.
If you want more flexibility, there are three alternatives:
- Wooting 60HE+ is used by 11 pros right now. It is 5 g lighter, 1.3 cm longer, 0.9 cm wider and 0.24 cm lower than the Apex Pro Mini. It is hotswappable and offers six switch options.
- Wooting 60HE v2 Silver is used by 7 pros right now. It is 4 g lighter, 1.2 cm longer, 1.2 cm wider and 1.24 cm lower, so it has a much flatter profile. It is also hotswappable with the same six switch options.
- Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini is used by 4 pros right now. It is 1.1 cm longer, 0.5 cm wider and 0.24 cm lower. Like the Apex, it is non-hotswappable, and it uses Razer Analog Optical switches.
In short, the Apex Pro Mini is the most compact in length of the four, while the Wooting boards trade a little extra size for hotswap support and a wide choice of switches.
