K1NG's keyboard history
K1NG has had three keyboards since September 2022, each in a single stretch with no going back to an earlier board. The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL came first and lasted 15.9 months. The Wooting 60HE+ followed from January 2024 and stayed for 13.6 months.
In February 2025 he moved to the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Black. At 19.9 months (1.7 years) and counting, it is already his longest period on any keyboard.
| Keyboard | From | To |
|---|---|---|
| SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Blacknow | February 2025 | today |
| Wooting 60HE+ | January 2024 | February 2025 |
| SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL | September 2022 | January 2024 |
Switches and actuation
The Apex Pro Mini Black is sold with OmniPoint 2.0 switches, and that is the only switch option for this model. The PCB is non-hotswappable, so the switches stay on the board and you cannot swap them for another type later. If you want to try different switches on the same keyboard, that matters.
The Wooting 60HE+ that K1NG used before this board works differently. It is hotswappable and is sold with a wide range of options: Lekker Linear 45 v2, Lekker Linear 60 v2, Lekker Tikken Light, Lekker Tikken Medium, Wooting x TTC KOM and Geon Raw HE. The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini is closer to the SteelSeries in this respect. It is non-hotswappable and comes with Razer Analog Optical switches.
Key binds
The movement keys are simple: jump on Space Bar, crouch on L-Ctrl and sprint on Caps Lock. The last one is easy to overlook, but it means sprint is a single key press away from the left hand.
The building keys sit around the left side of the board too. Floor is on V, Roof on L-Shift, Rotate Building on R and Building Edit on E. Confirm Edit on Release is switched on, so an edit locks in as soon as the key comes up.
Weapon slots are spread across X, Q, 3, 4 and C, with the Harvesting Tool on 1. Because the 60% layout has no dedicated function row or number pad, every bind lives on the main block of keys.

Should you buy K1NG's keyboard?
The Apex Pro Mini Black suits anyone who wants a compact 60% board that leaves plenty of desk space. It is a good fit if you like a full-size feel in a small footprint (it weighs 610 g), and if you are happy with one fixed switch type. The trade-off is the non-hotswappable PCB: what you buy is what you keep.
If switch choice matters more to you, the alternatives trade some size and weight for flexibility:
- Wooting 60HE+ is used by 11 pros right now. It is 5 g lighter, 1.3 cm longer, 0.9 cm wider and 0.24 cm lower than the SteelSeries. It is hotswappable and has the widest switch list.
- Wooting 60HE v2 Silver is used by 7 pros. It is 4 g lighter, 1.2 cm longer, 1.2 cm wider and 1.24 cm lower, so it is the flattest of the group. It is hotswappable with the same switch options.
- Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini is used by 4 pros. It is 1.1 cm longer, 0.5 cm wider and 0.24 cm lower. Like the SteelSeries, it has a non-hotswappable PCB.
