s1mple's keyboard history
s1mple's keyboard history is a long run of swaps inside the Logitech TKL family. The history table shows 14 periods, 13 switches between boards and 6 different models. He rarely stays put for long, and he often goes back to boards he has already used.
Two models stand out:
- Logitech G715: five separate periods, with four returns to it and 17.7 months (1.5 years) in total. It was his board right before the current one.
- Logitech G Pro X TKL Keyboard Black: two periods adding up to 20.0 months (1.7 years). His longest single stretch on any keyboard was on this model, 11.4 months from September 2023 to August 2024.
The rest are short stints. The G915 TKL Carbon and G915 TKL White were each used in two periods, with 3.9 months in total per model. The G Pro X TKL RAPID White had two periods totalling 2.3 months, and the G713 lasted 1.5 months. In January 2026 he spent about 3 days on the G715 before moving to the current board.
The current G Pro X TKL Black (GX Brown Tactile) has been in use since February 2026, 8.6 months so far. It is already his second-longest run on a single board. Going back to the G Pro X TKL Black after all those other models suggests he keeps coming back to it.

Switches and actuation
The G Pro X TKL Black comes in three switch versions: GX Brown Tactile, GX Red Linear and GX Blue Clicky. s1mple's board is the GX Brown Tactile version, as the model name says.
Here is what that choice means in practice:
- GX Brown Tactile: a bump you can feel on each press, without the loud click. It is the middle option between the other two.
- GX Red Linear: a smooth press with no bump.
- GX Blue Clicky: a tactile bump plus an audible click.
This version has a non-hotswappable PCB, so the switch type is fixed when you buy. Pick the feel you want before you order, because you can't swap switches later without soldering.
Should you buy s1mple's keyboard?
The G Pro X TKL Black is a tenkeyless board. It has no numpad, which leaves more desk room beside the keyboard. It weighs 950 g, so it stays put on the desk, and it has RGB. It suits anyone who wants a compact, full-featured Logitech board with a tactile switch. It is less suited to anyone who wants to change switches later, since the PCB is non-hotswappable.
The alternatives trade off like this:
- Logitech G Pro X Keyboard: the same TKL layout and the same three switch options, but hotswappable. It is 30 g heavier, 0.5 cm longer, 0.8 cm wider and 0.1 cm taller. Pick it if you want to change switches down the line.
- Logitech G Pro X TKL RAPID Black: the same weight and length, but 0.5 cm wider and 0.4 cm taller. It uses optical switches instead of the GX options, and the PCB is non-hotswappable.
- Logitech G715: the board he used just before the current one. It offers the same three switch options, but is 25 g heavier, 0.7 cm longer, 1.8 cm wider and 0.4 cm taller. It is the biggest of the three, so it needs the most desk space.
If you want the closest match to s1mple's setup, get the G Pro X TKL Black in the GX Brown Tactile version. If you would rather keep your options open on switches, the hotswappable G Pro X Keyboard is the one to look at.
