Custom CS2-inspired case-hardened Wooting 80HE vs the standard model

Wooting's February 2025 post about ohnePixel's board describes a custom case-hardened 80HE, a finish inspired by CS2. It is a one-off made for him, not a retail edition, so you can't order it. The 80HE you can buy is the standard model.

Wooting describes the custom board as a case-hardened finish. If you like the idea but want something you can buy, the standard 80HE+ and 80HE lines are the closest route. The board listed as his current one is the 80HE+ Zinc White, which has been his setup for 19.3 months (1.6 years) since March 2025.

Switches and actuation

The 80HE+ is sold with six switch options: Lekker Linear 45 v2, Lekker Linear 60 v2, Lekker Tikken Light, Lekker Tikken Medium, Geon Raw HE and Wooting x TTC KOM. That is a wide choice for one board. Two options are linear (the 45 and the 60 in the names), two are Tikken in Light and Medium versions, and the other two are Geon Raw HE and the Wooting x TTC KOM.

The PCB is hotswappable, so you aren't locked into the switch you start with. You can pick one of the options above, then swap later if it doesn't suit how you play CS2 or anything else.

Should you buy ohnepixel's keyboard?

The 80HE+ Zinc White is a TKL board, so you get the main block and arrow keys without the number pad. It suits players who want a tenkeyless layout with hotswappable switches and RGB. Anyone who wants a full-size layout should look elsewhere.

The alternatives trade off like this:

The Wooting options keep the hotswappable PCB and the six switch choices. The Razer is the pick if you prefer its different size and weight and don't need to change switches.
