Switches and actuation
The Apex Pro TKL is sold with SteelSeries OmniPoint switches. The PCB is non-hotswappable, so the switches are part of the board. Whatever it ships with is what you are buying into, which is simpler if you don't want to tinker but less flexible if you like swapping switches later.
The alternatives take a different approach. The two Wooting 80HE models have a hotswappable PCB and list a wide range of switch options: Lekker Linear 45 v2, Lekker Linear 60 v2, Lekker Tikken Light, Lekker Tikken Medium, Geon Raw HE and Wooting x TTC KOM. The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL uses Razer Analog Optical switches and, like the SteelSeries, is non-hotswappable. If switch choice matters most to you, the Wooting boards give you the most room to experiment.
Key binds
The table above has the full layout. Movement stays on the standard left-hand keys: crouch on L-Ctrl, jump on Space and sprint on L-Shift. Weapon slots 1, 3, 4 and 5 sit on their number keys, and the harvesting tool is on X.
Building is where the layout gets interesting. Wall, floor, stairs, trap, rotate and edit all sit on letter keys around the left side of the board (C, V, Q, T, R and F), so the building keys stay close to the movement keys. Turbo Building and Confirm Edit on Release are both switched on. A compact TKL layout keeps all of these keys within easy reach of each other.

Should you buy Kiro's keyboard?
The Apex Pro TKL is a tenkeyless board. It drops the numpad but keeps the arrow keys and navigation cluster, so it suits players who want a full-featured layout without the extra width. It is fairly tall and heavy, and the table above has the exact figures. That solid feel works well if you want a board that stays planted on the desk.
If you want something different, here is how the alternatives trade off:
- Wooting 80HE Black (used by 8 pros right now): 18 g heavier, 0.6 cm longer, 0.9 cm narrower and 1.06 cm lower. It is hotswappable and offers many switch options.
- Wooting 80HE+ Frost (used by 6 pros right now): the same dimensions and weight difference as the 80HE Black, with the same hotswappable PCB and switch choices.
- Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL Black (used by 5 pros right now): 52 g lighter, 0.4 cm longer and 0.9 cm wider, with the same height. It uses Razer Analog Optical switches and a non-hotswappable PCB.
Choose the Apex Pro TKL if you like its size and weight and don't need to swap switches. Go for a Wooting if a lower profile and hotswap flexibility matter more. The Razer is the lighter option with a similar non-hotswappable setup.
