timthetatman's keyboard history

There is one switch in his recent keyboard history. The Razer Huntsman Elite was his board from October 2022 to July 2024, and the Razer Blackwidow V4 75% took over in July 2024. Both are Razer, so the change was a new model rather than a new brand.

The Blackwidow V4 75% is also his longest period so far, at 27.4 months (2.3 years) and still running. The Huntsman Elite period lasted 21.2 months (1.8 years).

Earlier than both, HyperX's press release of May 18, 2022 for its limited-edition collection with him names the HyperX Alloy Elite 2 TimTheTatMan Edition as his preferred keyboard.

Switches and actuation

The Blackwidow V4 75% in the specs table is listed with Razer Orange switches. That is the option the model is sold with.

The more useful detail is the hotswappable PCB. Switches pull out and swap without soldering, so the stock switch is only a starting point. If you buy the same board, you can change the feel later without replacing the keyboard.

The 75% form factor drops the numpad and keeps the compact layout with a function row and the number row. That leaves the right side of your desk free for other things.

Key binds

The binds in the table come from Apex Legends and Fortnite, and the basics match between them. Crouch is on left Ctrl, jump on Space and sprint on left Shift. Fortnite also puts Use on E, and Apex puts Interact on E.

The number row does a lot of work in both games. In Apex, weapons sit on 1 to 3, the tactical ability is on 4, and the healing and shield items run from 5 to 9. In Fortnite, the harvesting tool is on 1 and weapon slots run from 2 to 6. A 75% board keeps that row, so these binds fit the layout without changes.

Fortnite building is spread around the left side of the board, with Q, Z, C, T and R, and edit on G, with turbo building on. Apex keeps its other utility keys close to the left hand too, with Tab for inventory, M for map, B for fire mode and V for melee.

Should you buy timthetatman's keyboard?

The Razer Blackwidow V4 75% suits players who want a compact 75% board with RGB and a hotswappable PCB, so the switches can be changed later. If you like a board that keeps the number row and function keys but frees up desk space, it fits that description.

The alternatives trade different things:

If swappable switches matter most, the Azoth and the Falchion Ace 75 HE keep that feature. If you want magnetic switches and can live without hotswapping, the INZONE KBD-H75 is the one to look at.
