What Keyboard Does Gumayusi Use?

Why Gumayusi chose the Corsair Vanguard Pro 96, in Gumayusi's words

The most direct reason comes from his move to Corsair. He signed as a Corsair global esports ambassador, and Corsair's partnership announcement of January 15, 2026 says he will compete in 2026 with the VANGUARD 96 PRO. Coverage of that announcement adds that he picked it after extensive testing.

What he says about the board itself is about speed:

VANGUARD PRO 96 feels like nearly zero latency—each keystroke is immediately reflected in-game.

That fits the board's design. It is a Hall effect, magnetic-switch keyboard, so quick, immediate key response is the whole point of it for a League of Legends player.

VANGUARD PRO 96 GUMAYUSI Edition vs the standard model

Corsair launched the VANGUARD PRO 96 GUMAYUSI Edition on September 7, 2026, as a limited edition. Corsair's release for the collection leads with it. The difference from the standard model is cosmetic and collectible, not mechanical.

• Look: a black-and-gold design with custom keycap legends.
• LCD: it ships with Gumayusi-themed art and photos he selected.
• Extras: two fan cards are included.
• Details from the fan meeting: coverage of the Corsair x Gumayusi event says "Prove it" is engraved on Enter, his nickname is on the spacebar, and key LoL keys have gold keycaps.

Switches and specs are the same as the standard VANGUARD PRO 96. If you only care about how it types and plays, the standard board gets you the same hardware. The Edition is for the art, the engraving and the collector angle.

Gumayusi's keyboard history

His keyboard history is short and clean: two boards, one switch. The Logitech G Pro X Keyboard was his longest stretch, at 25.7 months (2.1 years), and he moved to the Corsair in January 2026 when the partnership was announced. The Vanguard Pro 96 is currently at 8.9 months.

Neither keyboard has been returned to, so the change at the start of 2026 reads as a full handover to Corsair. Its stated reason is the ambassador deal.

Switches and actuation

The Vanguard Pro 96 is built around MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches. Corsair's release for the Gumayusi collection lists three features alongside them: Rapid Trigger, FlashTap SOCD and custom actuation points for the Gumayusi Edition. These are manufacturer specs.

• Magnetic switches: they detect key position without a traditional contact, which is what allows adjustable actuation points.
• Rapid Trigger: a feature that makes the key respond to the direction of travel rather than a fixed point.
• FlashTap SOCD: handles cases where two opposing keys are held at once.

The PCB is hot-swappable, so the switches can be changed without soldering.

Should you buy Gumayusi's keyboard?

The 96 form factor suits anyone who wants to keep a number block but not carry the footprint of a full-size board. It also suits players who like adjustable, magnetic-style key response. Hot-swap support and RGB round it out as a board you can tweak over time.

The choice between the two versions comes down to taste. The standard VANGUARD PRO 96 has the same switches and specs as the GUMAYUSI Edition. The Edition adds the black-and-gold look, the themed LCD art, the fan cards and the engraved details, and as a limited release it is the pick for fans and collectors.
